Gifted Gorgeousness SAL December Update

Hello Friends,

It's that time of the month when we show what gifts we have been working on or/and what crafty gifts we have received. If you don't know what I'm talking about , check Jo's blog for more info.

Also last GG check in for the year, where did the time go?
After finishing the knitted blanket, I picked up my nemesis project and have made some progress on it. I'm still searching for reasons why I wasn't able to finish it this year.

Yesterday night I found out that I have done a counting mistake in the left middle section where you see the blue. It broke my heart. I was already finding it difficult to continue with this project with small count fabric and the number of stitches. And then another mistake. But my very helpful husband tried to calm me down and said that the mistake doesn't effect the whole project , so don't frog . So I have decided to continue without frogging , will just not use the blue stitches as reference to stitch. But I will finish it one day.

Never one to give up easily, I tried my hands at crocheting again and made a beanie for hubby. Not bad for first time haan!
I have been using free time at work to knit small things like wash cloths. It gives me a feeling of satisfaction to use my free time productively rather than surfing internet .

On another note, I realised I have never shared the news of adopting a cat with my blog friends though I do post about her on Instagram.

We welcomed "Twitch" in our house in July and she has become such an important part of our lives. No day is complete without cuddles and playing with her . She loves to sit in my lap and contributes specialty fibers to all my projects.

Here she is posing with the cross stitch stash I bought from Michaels in New York in September.

Sorry can't figure out why this picture is rotated.
That's it my friends, I will be back with the yearly crafting report post soon.

Here's wishing my Christian friends Merry Christmas. Enjoy time with your family.

  2. Thanks for taking part in GG this year. You have a full house of posts! And yes, there will be statistics during the first post of 2018. You know I love a statistic!
Shame about the butterfly project but I am sure you can work around it.
Nice beanie and a happy smiling husband too!
I love your cat, I am a cat person although we don't have one at the moment.

  3. Your project is looking beautiful! I make many mistakes on large projects and I rarely look back unless it affects the entire project. I just mark the surronding rows with a thread and continue with correct part of the design. I later use my own ways to fill my incorrect area to catch up with correct portion (I hope you understand what I am trying to say) whenever I have calmed down. The gift that I stitched for you, have atleast 5-6 mistakes ;) but you weren't going to match with the original chart and so will not your friend either. As long as butterflies don't look like moths, don't worry:) The crochet beanie looks great ! Glad you have a pet in your house to keep you occupied.

  5. I agree with Preeti too! The butterflies look wonderful! It’s usually possible to work around mistakes and no one else will know they are there! Love the beanie! Your beautiful cat looks a little similar to our Tom! I’ve only just seen your holiday photos, will be back to view them again ..... certainly looks like an amazing holiday!

  6. For sure no one will know that there's a mistake in your project. Glad your hubby was able to convince you of that. I'm happy that Twitch has been such a welcome addition to your family.

  7. We would have been none the wiser had you not told us there was a mistake :) And I agree with your husband, if it doesn't affect the project as a whole leave it be. Your new kitty looks so sweet! And I love her name!

  8. I think your husband is right. The error that you made is not visible and so why frog it? Just stitched and forget about the error. Then stitching on this piece will be fun again.
By the way, that beanie hat looks great on your husband :)))
