Hi Blog Friends,
Exactly 1 year ago I posted on this blog trying to explain why I have been absent for years...
I was expecting little more engagement and may be got discouraged by the absence of comments on that post.
Though I have not been blogging this last year, I have been reading blogs on my reading list and leaving comments here and there.
Today I observed that some bloggers continue to blog even if there is no engagement from readers. This got me to thinking that may be I should also start blogging again...it may not serve the purpose of connecting with other cross stitchers , at least it will serve as a diary for my projects .
You see when I started blogging in 2014, it was to connect with other cross stitchers around the world . Instagram was still new and not used for cross stitch by many people . Blog and Facebook groups were common media for cross stitch related interactions back then.
Things have certainly changed in last 10 years, people are moving to more easier to use platform -Instagram . So many bloggers stopped blogging ...Hats off to the ones who still blog regularly .
I don't want to give up on blogging yet , so here I am ...
Sharing a project which I finished in Mar 2021. This was custom order from my close friend for her nephew. I gave here the design options and she picked this one.
The recipient lived close by to my then house, so I hand delivered it .

I still enjoy this finish ..hope you do too.
Welcome back and what a sweet sampler! I have continued to blog regularly as a diary for myself. I have dropped the Blog Hops but have continued to host Gifted Gorgeousness and join in with a couple of other SALs. There are fewer people viewing and commenting these days.
ReplyDeleteGlad to visit you and see this so cute stitching, what a nice idea! I'm actually making a birth album and could use this baby feet shape in it! Bonne journée, amicalement from France ! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi! Thanks for visiting my blog xo. When I first starting blogging it was just a journal for me. I didn't mind if anyone read it or not. To my happy surprise I had a whole lot of stitchers starting following me me and interact. It's how I made my lifelong stitchy friends. I'm looking forward to our future posts. You're baby sampler is really cute. Lovely colours. Happy stitching. X
ReplyDeleteHi Mini, Good to see you blogging again! Not sure I could return to blogging, Instagram is so much quicker. I might have a go later in the year, I’ll see how things go. Hugs, Barbara @flashinscissors 👍🙋♀️🤗💜💜💜xx
ReplyDeleteLovely to see you blogging again. It's certainly a different world in blogland, I have very few comments even though I post on others blogs and they reply .... strange world. However I will keep blogging as for me my stitching blog and my travel blog are my forms of keeping a diary, it's lovely to look back at stitchy projects.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I never commented on your previous post, but I am glad to see you bag and will surely be here to follow along! Such a sweet finish.
ReplyDeleteHi Mini. You reached out to me on Ravelry and brought a huge smile to me to start the day! Thank you! Thought I’d check out your blog since I fondly remember the Kuwait Crafters group and, for years and years, did tons of cross stitch. I love looking at past projects and seeing someone’s journey through their work. I’d love to see what you are working on now. Salam wa sa’aadah
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to start blogging again. Though I may not have as many crafty projects to show as I did in past. Yes, I'm cross stitching again after a long break. I love all your Tatreez projects
ReplyDeleteGood to see you blogging and stitching again! That is a very cute baby sampler you stitched for your friend's nephew! The world of blogging has changed a great deal--everyone has turned to FlossTube. I'm hanging in there for now and have found a smaller, but very special group of stitchers who visit and comment and I try to also visit and comment on their blogs :)
ReplyDeleteI love this! I used to cross-stitch all of the time, but work and life has been crazy busy the last few years, so I haven't dedicated nearly enough time to it. I would love to make something like this for my daughter in law, who just had her first baby. This is definitely giving me the inspiration I needed to start again. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHello! I just found your return to blogging from seeing Dragon Stitches blog post about blogging. Welcome back. I'm an avid reader of blogs, but don't comment very often. I'll gladly come back and see what cross stitching you are up to. I just returned to cross stitching as my main hobby about 4 years ago and am going strong with 24 Wisps and I just finished a project this morning that was started in 1994! Thanks for sharing your stitching with us!
ReplyDeleteI looked back to your post and was surprised that I hadn't commented. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Father and family, I'm sure you are still treasuring your memories.
ReplyDeleteYour finish is adorable, please keep posting and definitely keep on stitching!🥰
Welcome back. Yes the comments have dwindled but I love the ones I do get. I've started a Flosstube and that community is even bigger than when blogging started. I think maybe a lot went there. Blogging is still the original form though. I am so thankful for the people I've met here.
