July wrap up

Hello Friends,
Another month has come to an end and it's time for a monthly report.

I participated in Just one July SAL organised by Justine this month. As you know ,I have been stitching my EMS Flower of the Month project for this SAL.Here are some progress shots:
Left shows my progress before the start of  SAL.
Completed September flower on 7-Jul-16
Worked on some borders
Finished October flower on 23-Jul-16
Progress on November flower as on 30-Jul-16
I have now decided to stitch this piece until its completed.

Remember I told you I will show you some stash in my next post.My friend K is back from States and has bought me goodies.
First is my win from Mii Stitch's fourth blog anniversary giveaway. Thanks Mii, I love it!

Did I tell you that I have been tempted to buy Dimensions Kits since long? I love the designs they have to offer . However, I had read about how the aida in kits is rough and stiff and people run out of floss. To avoid these problems, I was looking to buy only a chart . Didn't get much success in that. So, I went ahead and bought a design which has been on my wish list

Isn't these beautiful? Do you know Peacock is National Bird of India? This is my first time buying cross stitch item from Ebay and I was a bit skeptical based on the feedback on various forums. Thank God , the seller sent me an original kit.

Here is my monthly stitching pie or should I say crafting pie
I have often mentioned that I'm part of a wonderful craft group here in Kuwait and we have regular meetups .We usually meet in coffee shops like Starbucks however it has been my intention to meet at new places so that we can explore Kuwait along with crafting.
Mid of July we met at a coffee shop called Lobelia Cafe. Its a small coffee shop with a vintage chic theme and the colors used are white and pink. The cafe has a sea view and we enjoyed our time there.

Yesterday we met at THE One, which is a cafe and Furniture store , isn't that a quirky combination
You can see a price tag hanging from one of the chairs here.

Thank you for your feedback on the blogger issues. Trust me I'm not as worried about the number of comments on my blog as about my posts showing up on the dashboard of  my followers.Turns out one of my followers wasn't able to see them .
Blogger issues still continue as I saw some weird feed on other blogger accounts. Hope the blogger team works on this soon.

It's time for our annual vacation and me and DH are busy planning . Any guesses what our destination country is this time?

Have a happy Sunday .

  1. Congrats on the October flower finish!! All the flowers are looking gorgeous together!
The peacock kit is pretty, looking forward to see you stitching the same.
Have you followed your blog? It is good to follow your own blog so that you can also see how the posts appear on dashboard. For some bloggers' blogposts I don't see images next to the snippet.

    1. Thank you.
That's a great tip of following one's own blog.
I think the reason behind missing images next to the snippet is when a blogger chooses not to put a profile picture.

  2. Great progress on your flowers!! They are beautiful! And you stitchy/knitting pie is looking good!! :) Please tell us more about your new header picture, it looks like a fun place to explore! I love the new charts, looking forward to you starting them! And great idea to try out new places to hold your craft get togethers! They both look like places I would like to spend some time in :)

The header picture is of from our trip to Goreme,Turkey in July 2014. The structures you see here all called "Fairy Chimneys" rock formations.

  3. You made excellent progress on your flowers so I can see why you would just keep going and finish them. Such a beautiful mix. Love the new stash - having lovely patterns to look forward to is fun. And good for moving your meeting place around - we often get stuck in a rut and don't explore everything our own home town has to offer.

  5. Your flower SAL looks beautiful! Thanks for joining me in July. You have made great progress!
Those coffee shops look lovely. I like Starbucks coffee but much prefer to spend my money in independent shops such as these.

  10. JOJ really worked well for you! The flowers look gorgeous and I'm sure you can finish them by the end of the year.
The two meet-up places look great too. I like the sound of Lobelia's style. Not so sure about drinking coffee in a chair with a price tag - I might spill my drink and be forced to buy the chair!

    1. Oh I'm targeting to finish this piece by August. This may be my longest running WIP.
Ha Ha, the furniture for the cafe is different than the one being sold and is at distance too.
So even if someone naughty like you jumps around and spills coffee ,the new furniture is safe.

The peacock kit is stunning - can't wait to see you stitch that one.
Love the idea of the Lobelia coffee shop - quirky idea of a furniture store/coffee shop - does make you wonder if there is a discount on any furniture that might get damaged :o)
    Hugs xx

  12. Hello Mini! You very busy crafter and I really like very single piece you have finished or have in your WIP list. I knew that Peacock is a national bird of India but did you knew that White wild Swan is a national birD of my country -Finland- here in the northest parts of Europe!
